The government of West Bengal has recently mandated two senior IAS officers to take fresh charges. This is a minor yet significant bureaucratic shake up and the two IAS transferees are:
- Dr. Subrata Gupta, a 1990-batch IAS officer, last posted as the Additional Chief Secretary in the Science & Technology and Bio-Technology Department, has been given additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary of the North Bengal Development Department.
- Mr. Manish Jain, a 1994-batch IAS officer, last posted as the Principal Secretary in the North Bengal Development Department, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary in the Irrigation and Waterways Department with additional charges of Principal Secretary of the Water Resource Investigation & Development Department and Project Director, ADMI Project.
