WCL Joins Hands with Narayana Institute to Offer JEE Coaching for Underprivileged Students Under TARASH Program

Flagship TARASH Initiative Empowers Talented Students from Backward Communities with Competitive Exam Preparation and Skill Development
Indian Masterminds Stories

New Delhi: In a major step toward expanding access to quality education, Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Narayana Institute to provide JEE coaching for students from underprivileged and backward communities. The initiative is part of WCL’s flagship CSR program TARASH, aimed at identifying and nurturing talented students who lack access to advanced learning opportunities.

MoU to Open Doors for Aspiring Engineers

Under this collaboration, selected students will receive structured coaching to prepare for competitive engineering entrance exams like JEE (Joint Entrance Examination). The program is designed to provide deserving candidates with the academic support needed to compete on an equal footing with peers from privileged backgrounds.

This partnership represents a shift toward using CSR initiatives for long-term educational impact, rather than short-term interventions, and emphasizes the importance of creating pathways for future engineers from marginalized communities.

Leadership Presence at MoU Signing

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Hemant Sharad Pandey, Director (Human Resources) at WCL, along with senior officials from Narayana Institute.

The presence of leadership from both organizations underscores the strategic importance of the initiative in shaping the future talent pipeline in the engineering and technology sectors.

Building Skills and Creating Opportunities

Beyond exam preparation, the TARASH coaching program focuses on developing critical skills such as:

  • Confidence and self-motivation
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Academic and professional readiness

By providing such comprehensive support, WCL is not only helping students excel academically but also preparing them for future professional challenges, contributing to a more inclusive and skilled workforce.
