IPS officer Rahul Rashgotra has been appointed as Special Director, Intelligence Bureau (IB). He is an officer of Maharashtra cadre and of 1989 batch. Mr. Rashgotra was serving as Additional Director, Intelligence Bureau (IB). Now, his post has been temporarily upgraded on in situ basis.
The officer has also served as the Joint Director, IB (Ministry of Home Affairs). He has also been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services. He is also in the race for becoming chief of IB if the panel decides to include 1989 batch officers along with 1987 batch.
