Who Will Be The Next Chief Secretary Of Rajasthan

Amid the change of government of Rajasthan, the speculation for new Chief Secretary is making rounds in the state. The current chief secretary Ms. Usha Sharma is due to retire on 31st December this year which has set the stage for a new Chief Secretary.

Almost around 10 IAS officers are in the contenders list to take the place of Ms. Usha. This includes officers like Subodh Aggarwal of 1988 batch and V. Srinivas, Shubhra Singh, Rajeshwar Singh, Rohit Kumar Singh. The rest of them are from 1989 batch. Besides them names of Sanjay Malhotra, Sudhanshu Pant, Abhay Kumar and Rajat Kumar Sharma is also coming up as the contenders.

As per the senior most criteria, Mr. Subodh Aggarwal has the strongest say on the position but he might not be a favoured candidate. It is being said that unlike the tradition, seniority might not be at play in the appointment for CS this time.

KNOW ABOUT MS. Usha Sharma

An IAS officer of 1985 batch, Ms. Sharma tenure as CS concluded on 30th June. Although, she was given extension for six more months. She started her career as SDM, Alwar and also served as DC, Bundi and Ajmer. Hailing from UP, Ms. Sharma also gave her services in Tourism, Handloom and Department of Industries.
