Lucknow/Varanasi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took proactive steps on Monday to assist flood-affected regions in neighboring states and monitor rising water levels in Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Flood Relief Dispatched to Northern States

CM Yogi Adityanath personally flagged off relief vehicles carrying essential supplies for flood-hit areas in Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. The initiative aims to provide immediate assistance to people impacted by heavy rains, ensuring access to food, water, and medical aid. Officials have been instructed to maintain constant vigilance and coordinate with local authorities for smooth relief operations.

Rising Ganga Levels Threaten Eastern UP

The Ganga River in Eastern Uttar Pradesh has assumed a menacing flow, crossing warning points in Varanasi. Rising water levels have led to flooding in several areas, including residential localities and ghats. Devotees performing rituals at riverbanks are being urged to move to safer zones. In Ballia, the river has already surpassed danger marks, prompting continuous monitoring and preparedness by disaster management teams.

Youth Employment: Corruption-Free Recruitment

Earlier in Lucknow, CM Yogi distributed appointment letters to 1,112 Junior Assistants and 22 X-ray Technicians. He emphasized that the recruitment process is now free from recommendations or monetary exchanges. “Young people are receiving appointments without any recommendation or monetary exchange. Serve everyone equally, especially the poor and needy, with full commitment,” the CM stated.

Government’s Dual Focus: Relief and Governance

The administration’s measures reflect a dual focus on governance and disaster management. Authorities have been instructed to ensure swift assistance to affected residents while maintaining alertness in flood-prone areas. The CM’s directives also highlight the government’s commitment to youth employment, transparency, and proactive monitoring of natural calamities during the monsoon season.
