Uttar Pradesh Before 2017: CM Yogi Criticises Previous Governments

Reflecting on the situation before 2017, Yogi Adityanath said that the state had been affected by riots, lawlessness and criminal activities, which had hindered development.

According to the Chief Minister, disorder had become widespread, while criminals, mafia groups and disruptive elements operated parallel systems of power. He said that disturbances often occurred before festivals, creating an atmosphere of insecurity among residents.

He further stated that parents were compelled to send their daughters to other states in search of a safer future.

The Chief Minister said these conditions had affected the state’s development and created obstacles to economic growth and public safety.

Law and Order Improved After 2017, Says CM Yogi

Highlighting the changes since 2017, the Chief Minister said the state government, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards crime and criminals.

He said the government focused on establishing the rule of law and transforming Uttar Pradesh from a state affected by unrest into one increasingly associated with festivals and celebrations.

According to Yogi Adityanath, efforts to improve women’s safety, dignity and self-reliance over the past nine and a half years have also contributed to changing Uttar Pradesh’s economic image.

He said the state had moved beyond its earlier perception as a BIMARU state and was emerging as a growth engine of the Indian economy.

Agriculture Growth Rate Rises to 18%

According to the figures shared by Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh’s agricultural growth rate has increased from 8% to 18%.

He also highlighted employment generation through government recruitment, startups and the revival of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.

Startup Ecosystem Expands, MSME Sector Generates 3 Crore Jobs

Yogi Adityanath said the number of startups in Uttar Pradesh had increased from 120 to more than 24,000.

He also highlighted the revival of the MSME sector, which he described as having been nearly inactive in the past.

According to the Chief Minister, the revival of MSMEs has helped create more than three crore employment opportunities in the state.

The government’s focus on startups, small businesses and manufacturing is aimed at expanding economic opportunities and supporting employment generation across different sectors.

‘Developed India, Developed Uttar Pradesh’ Remains the Goal

Concluding his message, Yogi Adityanath reiterated the state government’s commitment to the vision of ‘Sashakt Nari, Samriddh Uttar Pradesh’ (Empowered Women, Prosperous Uttar Pradesh).

He said the state’s double-engine government was continuing its efforts to achieve the broader objective of ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Uttar Pradesh’ (Developed India, Developed Uttar Pradesh).
