North Goa SP Nidhin Valsan, IPS, has shared a video of Head Constable (HC) Vidyanand Amonkar chasing drug peddlers and getting struck by their car in the process, as the culprits try to escape by knocking him down. The HC is seen in the video, posted on X, getting hold of one of the peddlers and, at that same time, a car driven by another peddler hits them both. The impact threw both the HC and the peddler off the ground and they fall down hard. Yet the HC still gets up fast and nabs the peddler, refusing to let go.
The HC is getting treated at a hospital now and Mr. Valsan posted pics of him visiting Mr. Amonkar who is seen lying on a hospital bed. While posting the video and pics from his official as well as personal X handles, the IPS officer praised the unwavering courage of the Head Constable in the face of adversity, and called him a true hero.
