Recently, Mr. Yatish Kumar (Indian Railway Administrative Services officer), who served as the CMD of Braithwaite & Co. Ltd in Kolkata, took to Facebook and shared a soul-soothing post where he spoke at length about his friend in bureaucracy, IPS Raveendran Sankaran (1995-batch officer), and his ability to empathise with the people for whom he works.
Referring to Officer Sankaran, Mr. Kumar wrote, “He (Mr. Sankaran), Director General of Sports in Bihar, is a close friend, and I have known him for the past few years, from the time when he was the Superintendent of Police of Munger.” Officer Sankaran and his spouse are both IPS officers and are extremely fond of art and literature, mentioned Officer Kumar in his post.
In his wholesome description of Officer Sankaran, Mr. Kumar wrote, “I have mainly known Ravindran as a sportsman. I have seen how he empathises with the journey of each player. I have never seen any other Sports DG taking such genuine care of the players under their watch.”
He attached some touching pictures of IPS Sankaran sharing an emotional moment with an athlete who seems to have bloomed to success under his guidance. Mr. Kumar concluded his post by writing, “This moment is sufficient to describe the kind of person IPS Sankaran is.”
