The National Tiger Conservation Authority or NTCA has tweeted a short video of a rare black wolf. The video of this wolf is from Panna Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh. The black wolf is actually a melanistic variant of the grey wolf. These are rare and few in number.
This kind of variant is seen among tigers too, and in India, melanistic tigers are found in Odisha. These are famous for their prominent black colour.
