After the Prime Minister launched the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ (SBM) on 2nd October, 2014, Indian Railways also launched ‘Swachh Rail, Swachh Bharat’ as part of this abhiyan. One of the most prominent reforms undertaken by the Indian Railways in the field of Swachhta and hygiene is the cleanliness of railway stations.
The Ministry of Railways’ Twitter account published “Before and After” images of a train station that can be seen completely strewn before and has turned into a tidy area, after, staying true to their goal of keeping the railroad tracks and platforms spotlessly clean.
