Police Left Gasping For Breath As Criminal Raced Away on Foot!

Watch the viral video of a Nigerian national running away from police custody in Navi Mumbai’s Ulwe area
Indian Masterminds Stories

A video being widely circulated in social media proves why it is so important for our police personnel to be fit. In the video, a group of police personnel in Maharashtra’s Navi Mumbai are seen having a tough time giving chase to a Nigerian. The alleged drug peddler was being led to a waiting police van by the personnel when he decided to give them the slip. The moment he sensed a chance, he ran away so fast that the police personnel were left literally gasping for breath. One of them even stumbled and fell down on the road while attempting to run after him.

Goes to show the fitness levels of both the captors and the captive. True to their reputation of being good runners, the African national gave a glimpse of his fitness while the police personnel once again brought to light the low fitness level in the force, especially at the junior level. In this regard, the step taken by Assam DGP G.P. Singh is praiseworthy, whereby he issued an ultimatum to Assam Police personnel to either get fit or lose their jobs.

The video of the running Nigerian and the bewildered police was shared on X by senior IPS officer Rupin Sharma, who also wrote while posting it that the incident “sums up why Nigeria has won more medals in Olympics in Athletics than India.”
