In a major pro-people announcement timed with the festive spirit of Diwali and Bhaidooj, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav declared an enhanced monthly assistance of Rs. 1500 for women beneficiaries under the Ladli Bahna Yojana, reiterating his government’s commitment to uplifting women and bringing smiles to every sister’s face in Madhya Pradesh.

At a grand public event in Sheopur, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav transferred the 29th installment amounting to Rs. 1541 crore directly to the accounts of over 1 crore 26 lakh women across the state, marking a powerful milestone in the government’s flagship welfare scheme.

Tourism, Infrastructure, and Medical Education Take Center Stage in Sheopur

A coffee table book focusing on Sehore’s tourism potential was also launched, showcasing the state’s growing emphasis on tourism-based economic development. Meanwhile, Sheopur district received a developmental windfall as projects worth over Rs. 532 crore were inaugurated or had their foundation stones laid by the Chief Minister.

Among the key gifts announced were the establishment of a new medical college, beautification of Sip and Kadwal river ghats, road infrastructure improvements, new school constructions, and the upcoming Transport Nagar in Sheopur.

Broad-Gauge Rail and Medical College to Accelerate Regional Growth

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that the arrival of a broad-gauge railway line and the new medical college in Sheopur would act as catalysts for comprehensive regional development. Citing historical figures, he highlighted that from just five medical colleges in 2002-03, the state now boasts 32 medical colleges, with eight added in the past year alone. Local youth in Sheopur will now have greater access to medical, nursing, and paramedical education—creating a pipeline of skilled professionals from the region.

Farmers to Gain from Inter-State River Linking Project

The Parvati-Kali-Sindh-Chambal inter-state river linking project, another highlight of the event, was hailed as a game-changing initiative for irrigation and agriculture in Sheopur and surrounding districts. CM Dr. Yadav said the region is now poised to overtake states like Punjab and Haryana in crop productivity. With Rs. 2600 per quintal procurement rates and bonus provisions for wheat, along with schemes like Bhavantar, the government is ensuring long-term financial sustainability for farmers.

He strongly urged farmers not to sell their land, as the upcoming water and infrastructure projects will drastically increase land value and transform the region’s agricultural fortunes.

Tourism and Employment Get a Boost from Cheetahs in Kuno Sanctuary

Tourism is being actively leveraged for job creation, especially in the Sheopur region, which houses the Kuno Sanctuary, now home to African cheetahs reintroduced under a visionary initiative by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. CM Dr. Yadav noted that the restoration of traditional “Chauts” has become a foundation for eco-tourism and rural employment. He credited Sampan Travel Mart in Bhopal for recent investment proposals in the tourism sector.

Small and Medium Industries to Drive Local Economy

Acknowledging the importance of industrial diversification, the CM revealed plans to set up pulse mills and rice mills in Sheopur under the MSME sector. The move aims to create employment and develop the local supply chain infrastructure. Beautification of the town, establishment of Sandipani School in Dodar, and enhancements to science and mathematics education in local schools are also underway.
