Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced a major push to modernize school education in the state, including the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills for students from Class 8 to 12. The announcement came during a high-level review meeting of the School Education Department held in Bhopal on Thursday.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the state is working towards building a strong foundation for a “developed and self-reliant Madhya Pradesh” through quality education and modern learning systems.

AI Education to Be Integrated in Schools

Dr. Yadav directed officials to prepare a structured action plan for introducing AI-based skills in secondary and higher secondary education. The move aims to equip students with future-ready digital competencies and improve technological literacy across government schools.

The initiative is expected to align school education with emerging global trends in technology and innovation.

Focus on Quality Infrastructure and School Safety

The Chief Minister instructed that all schools must have boundary walls constructed to ensure safety and security of students. He also ordered immediate repair of dilapidated school buildings before the start of the new academic session beginning June 16.

He stressed that all preparations should be completed before the session begins, ensuring a smooth academic environment for students.

Recruitment of Guest Teachers Before July 1

Dr. Yadav directed the School Education Department to complete the recruitment process of guest teachers before July 1. This is aimed at preventing staffing shortages in schools at the beginning of the academic year.

Curriculum Updates: History and Cultural Education

The Chief Minister proposed including the biography of Emperor Vikramaditya in the school curriculum. He also suggested preparing an engaging book on Guru Sandipani’s life to promote cultural and historical awareness among students.

Recognition for High-Performing Schools

Schools achieving 100% results in board examinations will be publicly honored, along with their teachers. According to officials, 26 schools in the state achieved full pass results this year.

Schools with 90% to 95% pass rates will also be recognized to encourage academic excellence and competition.

“Shiksha Ghar Yojana” Receives Approval in Principle

A major highlight of the meeting was the conceptual approval of the proposed “Shiksha Ghar Yojana.” The scheme will provide an opportunity for students who could not complete their school education to pass Class 10 or 12 examinations.

The program will be implemented across Madhya Pradesh, covering rural and urban areas, and will be executed through the Madhya Pradesh State Open School Education Board.

Student Engagement and Alumni Participation

The Chief Minister emphasized organizing former student alumni meets in schools to strengthen emotional connections and encourage contributions towards school development.

He also suggested organizing a “Teacher Vandan Program” from July 1 to Guru Purnima on July 29, involving parents and public representatives.

Vocational Training and Skill Development in Schools

Schools will now offer vocational training in agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and other employment-oriented fields. The government also plans to connect self-help groups with schools to promote practical learning.

Additionally, students will be encouraged to participate in NCC, NSS, health camps, driving license camps, and coaching support for competitive exams.

Tracking Student Progress After Schooling

The government will develop a database to track what students pursue after completing Class 12—whether higher education, employment, agriculture, vocational training, or family businesses. This will help shape future education policies based on real outcomes.

Increase in School Enrollment

Officials reported a significant rise in enrollment in government schools. Compared to last year, Class 1 admissions have increased by 32.4%, while enrollment in Classes 9 to 12 has grown by 4.25%, marking the highest increase in recent years.

Government’s Vision for Education Reform

The Chief Minister reiterated that improving educational quality, strengthening monitoring systems, and introducing innovation-based teaching methods are key priorities. He also directed coordination between the School Education and Women and Child Development departments to improve early childhood learning outcomes.

The Madhya Pradesh government’s latest education reforms reflect a strong push towards technology integration, infrastructure improvement, cultural education, and skill-based learning. With initiatives like AI education, vocational training, and the Shiksha Ghar scheme, the state aims to transform its school education system into a modern, inclusive, and outcome-driven model.
