Bhopal: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday called upon newly appointed office bearers of corporations, boards, commissions, and authorities in Madhya Pradesh to focus on public welfare, administrative efficiency, and transparent governance.
Addressing the inaugural session of an orientation and training program at the Atal Bihari Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis in Bhopal, the Chief Minister said that officials should first understand their responsibilities thoroughly and work in better coordination with their teams to deliver meaningful results for citizens.
“Public Welfare Must Be the Core Objective”
During his address, CM Yadav reiterated that politics and administration should be dedicated to public welfare, quoting former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
He emphasized that:
- Service to people is the highest duty
- Ethical conduct and integrity are essential in public life
- Officials should work with commitment, discipline, and transparency
- Government credibility depends on the performance of its institutions
The Chief Minister advised newly appointed officials to study departmental policies and regulations carefully before taking decisions.
Better Resource Management and Financial Discipline
Highlighting the importance of efficient administration, CM Yadav stressed the need for proper utilization of available resources and financial discipline.
He urged officials to:
- Prevent unnecessary expenditure
- Explore innovative revenue generation models
- Ensure regular monitoring within institutions
- Promote teamwork and institutional accountability
According to the Chief Minister, self-discipline among officials is essential for maintaining discipline within corporations and boards.
Focus on Digital Governance and Technology
CM Yadav also emphasized the growing role of technology in governance and administration.
He encouraged office bearers to adopt:
- Digital governance systems
- Data-based decision-making
- Technology-driven monitoring mechanisms
- Transparent service delivery systems
He also urged officials to actively use social media to communicate government achievements and public initiatives effectively.
Zero Tolerance Against Misconduct
The Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s zero-tolerance policy toward corruption and misconduct.
He advised officials to maintain dignity in public life and avoid any activities that could damage institutional credibility or personal reputation.
Additionally, he called upon departments to actively support awareness campaigns related to:
- De-addiction initiatives
- Cleanliness and environmental protection
- Women empowerment
- Child protection
- Social harmony and reform movements
Senior Leaders Highlight Vision for Self-Reliant Madhya Pradesh
Senior BJP leader Hemant Khandelwal said that officials should use their authority strictly for public interest and follow principles of financial prudence promoted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
State in-charge Mahendra Singh emphasized that the government’s long-term vision is to make Madhya Pradesh one of India’s leading states through accountable governance and institutional self-reliance.
He also noted that the performance of all office bearers would be continuously evaluated.
Training Program Attended by Newly Appointed Officials
The orientation program was attended by newly appointed chairpersons, vice-chairpersons, and members of various state corporations, boards, and authorities, along with senior government officials and dignitaries.
The training aims to improve administrative efficiency, governance standards, and public service delivery across state institutions.
