Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday distributed appointment letters to 319 teachers and 17 women supervisors during a program held at Project Bhawan in Ranchi.
During the event, the Chief Minister announced that the state government is preparing to carry out thousands of additional recruitments over the next two to four months as part of its employment and development agenda.
Recruitment Process Accelerated in Education Department
CM Soren stated that the government has accelerated recruitment in the human resources and education sectors since coming to power.
According to him:
- Around 9,000 teachers have been appointed in the education department over the past four months
- Newly appointed candidates include intermediate and graduate-trained assistant teachers
- The government is focusing on transparent and fair recruitment practices
He said the appointments are not only aimed at employment generation but also at strengthening Jharkhand’s long-term educational development.

Government Focused on Education and Nutrition
Highlighting the state’s education reforms, the Chief Minister referred to the “Chief Minister School of Excellence” initiative and said the government is working continuously to improve the quality of education.
He also acknowledged malnutrition as a longstanding challenge in Jharkhand and emphasized that the administration is committed to improving child nutrition and healthcare outcomes.
According to Soren, women supervisors will play a key role in addressing social welfare and nutrition-related challenges across the state.
Push for Women Empowerment Through Welfare Schemes
The Chief Minister highlighted the success of the “Maiya Samman Yojana,” under which financial assistance is being directly transferred to nearly 50 to 60 lakh women beneficiaries every month.
Under the scheme:
- Eligible women receive ₹2,500 per month
- The initiative aims to improve financial independence among women
- The government believes women empowerment is essential for inclusive development
CM Soren shared an example of a financially supported orphan girl who later became a Deputy Collector, calling it a symbol of the transformative impact of welfare schemes.
Growing Trust in Government Schools
The Chief Minister said public confidence in government schools is increasing significantly.
He noted that:
- The state’s Schools of Excellence are receiving strong public response
- Around 35,000 to 40,000 applications were received for approximately 10,900 seats
According to the government, this reflects growing trust in the public education system.
Teachers Asked to Serve in Rural and Remote Areas
Addressing the newly appointed teachers, CM Soren urged them to work sincerely in remote and difficult regions of the state.
He emphasized that:
- Teachers play a critical role in shaping children’s futures
- Students in rural and tribal areas require dedicated support
- Educators should accept challenges instead of avoiding difficult postings
The Chief Minister described children as “raw clay” in the hands of teachers, stressing that educators have the responsibility to shape future generations.
Transparent Employment and Inclusive Development
The state government reiterated its commitment to providing fair and transparent employment opportunities to youth.
Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, who was also present at the event, said the current administration is focused on honest governance and public welfare rather than political gains.
Labour and Employment Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav and senior officials from the education department also attended the program.
