New Delhi: Grid Controller of India Limited (GRID-INDIA) participated in the CIGRE Paris Session 2026, with senior officials contributing to technical discussions, workshops and presentations on the future of power systems and energy transition.
A delegation comprising S.C. Saxena, CMD, GRID-INDIA, Amit Kumar Jain, Director (Finance), and six other officials represented the organisation at the international event.
Eight GRID-INDIA Technical Papers Accepted
GRID-INDIA presented its technical expertise at the CIGRE Paris Session 2026 through eight accepted technical papers across four Study Committees.

GRID-INDIA CMD S.C. Saxena Participates in CEO Forum
S.C. Saxena, CMD, GRID-INDIA, participated as a panellist in the CIGRE Paris Session 2026 CEO Forum on “Energy Regulation and Energy Transition.”
During the discussion, Saxena highlighted the importance of transmission infrastructure in enabling the energy transition.
He emphasised the need to strengthen the power grid while improving its:
- Strength
- Flexibility
- Resilience
- Innovative access mechanisms
His participation focused on the role of transmission systems in supporting the changing energy landscape and integrating new energy resources.
Amit Kumar Jain Presents Paper on Infrastructure Financing
Amit Kumar Jain, Director (Finance), GRID-INDIA, presented a technical paper at the session.
The paper was titled “Monetization through Securitization of Cash Flows as an Innovative Financing Mechanism for Development of Infrastructure Projects in India.”
The paper examined an innovative financing approach for infrastructure development in India, focusing on the monetisation and securitisation of cash flows.
Vivek Pandey Receives CIGRE Technical Council Award 2026
Vivek Pandey, CGM (SO), NLDC, represented GRID-INDIA as the Special Reporter for Study Committee C2.
He also presented at the Large Disturbance Workshop during the CIGRE Paris Session 2026.
Pandey received the CIGRE Technical Council Award 2026 in recognition of his contributions to power system operation and control.
The award marked recognition of his technical contribution to the field and his involvement in CIGRE’s technical activities.
GRID-INDIA’s Contribution to Global Power Sector Discussions
GRID-INDIA’s participation in the CIGRE Paris Session 2026 brought together its operational, financial and technical expertise at an international platform.
Through technical papers, panel discussions and workshops, GRID-INDIA officials contributed to discussions on power system operation, transmission infrastructure, energy transition, grid resilience and innovative financing for infrastructure projects.
