Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav performed Kanya Pujan and Shastra Pujan at the Chief Minister’s residence in Bhopal on October 20, 2026, on the occasion of Vijayadashami (Dussehra). During the rituals, he conveyed the message of strength, courage and protection of dharma, and prayed for the prosperity, peace and security of the state.
After the puja, the Chief Minister extended Dussehra greetings to the people of Madhya Pradesh and the country. He said that the government was continuously working for public welfare and emphasised the importance of the values associated with Indian festivals.
CM Mohan Yadav Extends Vijayadashami Greetings
Addressing the media after the rituals, CM Mohan Yadav congratulated the people of Madhya Pradesh and the country on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country was progressing steadily. He added that the Madhya Pradesh government was also continuing its work through public welfare initiatives.
The Chief Minister said that every festival carries an important message and offers an opportunity for people to reflect on values that contribute to society and the nation.
CM Highlights the Role of Armed Forces in Protecting the Nation
During his address, CM Mohan Yadav highlighted the importance of strength in protecting people’s rights and safeguarding the country’s dignity.
He said that in a democracy, people’s rights are of great importance, but protecting those rights also requires strength and security. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the armed forces and the military in upholding the country’s honour and protecting the world’s largest democracy.
The Chief Minister linked the message of Shastra Pujan with the values of courage, responsibility and the protection of the nation.
CM Mohan Yadav Urges People to Follow Lord Ram’s Ideals
The Chief Minister also recalled the struggle of Lord Ram and the significance of Vijayadashami, which marks the victory of good over evil.
He said that the day commemorates Lord Ram’s victory over Ravana and the beginning of Ram Rajya. He urged people to adopt the positive values reflected in Lord Ram’s life and apply them in their own lives.
CM Mohan Yadav emphasised the importance of working for the welfare of the poorest sections of society. He expressed his wish that people’s hardships be reduced and that happiness, prosperity and well-being reach every household.
He also extended his best wishes to the people of Madhya Pradesh on the occasion.
Madhya Pradesh Government Celebrates Festivals at the Official Level
CM Mohan Yadav said that the state government had decided to celebrate festivals collectively at the official level to encourage shared participation in cultural and traditional occasions.
As part of this initiative, Shastra Pujan ceremonies were being organised at different locations across Madhya Pradesh. Other ministers were also scheduled to visit districts to participate in the celebrations.
The Chief Minister described the occasion as an opportunity to honour traditions and strengthen the spirit of collective celebration.
CM Extends Greetings on RSS Foundation Day
The Chief Minister also noted that Vijayadashami marks the foundation day of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
He extended his greetings to RSS volunteers, as well as to the people of Madhya Pradesh and the country, on the occasion.
Through his Vijayadashami message, CM Mohan Yadav highlighted public welfare, national security, cultural traditions and the importance of following the ideals of Lord Ram.
