MP CM Mohan Yadav Reviews Festival Preparations, Highlights Balaram Agriculture Festival as Cultural Celebration 

CM Mohan Yadav orders arrangements for Kanwar pilgrims and Independence Day, while MP plans Partition Remembrance Day, Raksha Bandhan and Shri Krishna Festival events across the state.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on August 10 reviewed preparations for Independence Day and upcoming festivals and directed officials to ensure that all events are celebrated with enthusiasm and proper arrangements. He also called for the Balaram Agriculture Festival to be presented as a celebration of India’s agricultural culture rather than being limited to farmers alone.

The review meeting at the state secretariat also covered arrangements for Kanwar pilgrims, the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, Raksha Bandhan, Balaram Jayanti and the upcoming Shri Krishna Festival.

CM Mohan Yadav Calls for Cultural Celebration of Balaram Agriculture Festival

CM Mohan Yadav said the Balaram Agriculture Festival represents not only farmers but also India’s rich agricultural traditions and culture.

The festival is currently being organised across districts of Madhya Pradesh, with exhibitions focused on modern and advanced agricultural practices.

The Chief Minister noted that the participation of large numbers of farmers and rural residents reflects their growing interest in the festival.

He directed the Culture Department to organise cultural activities during the festival and use the large gathering of farmers to communicate information about Indian culture and government initiatives in an engaging manner.

Special Arrangements Ordered for Kanwar Pilgrims

With the month of Shravan underway, CM Mohan Yadav directed officials to ensure comprehensive arrangements for Kanwar pilgrims travelling towards Shiva temples.

Officials were instructed to focus on:

  • Smooth movement of Kanwar pilgrims
  • Food and drinking water facilities
  • Security arrangements
  • Convenient access to routes and religious places
  • Prompt assistance in case of difficulties

The Chief Minister stressed that pilgrims should not face inconvenience during their journey.

Partition Horrors Remembrance Day to Be Observed on August 14

Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Sanjay Kumar Shukla informed the meeting that Vande Mataram 150 Years celebrations and Partition Horrors Remembrance Day will be observed on August 14.

A special picture exhibition will be organised at Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal. CM Mohan Yadav will inaugurate and visit the exhibition.

A ‘Pravasi Senani Veethi’ highlighting the contribution of overseas Indians and important figures associated with India’s freedom struggle will also be inaugurated at Shaurya Smarak.

The Chief Minister will also flag off a Tiranga Bike Rally of police personnel from the memorial. The rally will pass through various routes before concluding at Shaurya Smarak.

Independence Day Celebrations Planned in Bhopal

On Independence Day, CM Mohan Yadav will pay tribute to freedom fighters at Shaurya Smarak.

At 8:30 am, he will lay a wreath at the martyr memorial and offer floral tribute at the statue of Bharat Mata.

In the evening, the state will host an ‘Azadi Ka Mahaparv’ programme at the Hansdhwani Auditorium of Ravindra Bhavan at 6:30 pm.

Renowned playback singer Kavita Krishnamurti and her troupe will present a musical performance during the programme.

Raksha Bandhan to Be Celebrated as Social Relations Festival

According to Additional Chief Secretary, Culture, Shiv Shekhar Shukla, Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on August 28 as a ‘Raksha Parv’.

This year, the festival will be observed as a national celebration of social relationships and the spirit of protecting vulnerable sections of society.

CM Mohan Yadav will receive Raksha Sutras from women beneficiaries at the Chief Minister’s residence.

Senior citizens will also participate by receiving Raksha Sutras from members of weaker, needy and destitute sections of society, promoting a message of social responsibility and care.

Balaram Jayanti to Feature Agricultural Exhibitions and Rural Sports

Balaram Jayanti will be celebrated on September 2.

The celebrations will include cultural, sporting and agricultural activities.

The Culture Department will organise performances based on traditional agricultural art forms, while the Sports and Youth Welfare Department will organise sports competitions in rural areas.

The Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Department will organise exhibitions and interaction programmes focusing on:

  • Modern agricultural equipment
  • Fertilisers
  • Seeds
  • Agricultural medicines
  • Modern farming practices

Shri Krishna Festival to Be Held Across MP From August 29 to September 6

The Culture Department will organise the ‘Shri Krishna Parv’ from August 29 to September 6 across Madhya Pradesh.

A seven-day Shri Rasleela Festival will also be organised at Ravindra Bhavan from August 29 to September 4.

Cultural activities based on the life and various leelas of Lord Krishna will be organised at 101 locations across the state.

The Chief Minister directed the School Education Department, Tribal Affairs Department and urban local bodies to actively participate in the Shri Krishna Festival.

Krishna-Themed Cultural Programmes Planned at 25 Locations

According to officials, special programmes will be organised at 25 locations associated with episodes and stories related to Lord Krishna.

These events will include:

  • Performances based on local Krishna-related legends
  • Activities centred on Lord Krishna
  • Dance and theatre performances
  • Devotional singing programmes focused on Lord Balaram and Lord Krishna
  • Cultural presentations depicting Krishna’s various episodes

Special decorations will also be carried out at Krishna temples, monasteries and other religious places during Janmashtami.

Public places will also witness cleanliness drives as part of the celebrations.

District Collectors Directed to Coordinate Krishna Festival Activities

The state government has issued directions to district collectors regarding the celebrations.

The Teerth Sthan and Mela Authority will also be involved in organising activities at Krishna temples during Janmashtami.

The government plans to organise additional cultural programmes at important locations in every district, making the Shri Krishna Festival a statewide cultural celebration.
