Senior IPS officer Mr. Dinesh Rana has been given the Additional Charge of Commandant General, Home Guard/ Civil Defence and State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF), Jammu & Kashmir.

The Jammu and Kashmir government issued an order regarding the transfers of three senior Indian Police Services (IPS) officers in the state. The official order states that Senior IPS officer of 1996 batch Mr. Dinesh Rana has been given the Additional Charge of Commandant General, Home Guard/ Civil Defence and State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF), Jammu & Kashmir. Presently he is posted as ADGP, Coordination, in Police Headquarters, J&K.
While 2010 batch IPS Officer Mr. Shridhar Patil has been sent on Deputation to the Union Territory of Ladakh as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Leh. Earlier he was posted as SSP CID (Counter Intelligence), Jammu. He will replace the incumbent Mr. Rajiv Omprakash Pande who has been sent on deputation to the NIA.
Besides this, IPS officer Mr. Shahid Mehraj Rather has been given the Additional Charge of the post of SSP Armed Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir. Currently, he is posted as Commandant IR 6th Battalion.
