Kolkata: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math to support 15 Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP) units aimed at improving education, healthcare, and nutrition for underprivileged children.
The initiative is part of GRSE’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts focused on inclusive growth and community development.
Focus on Education, Health, and Nutrition for Underprivileged Children
The Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa units are designed to provide structured support for holistic child development. Under this collaboration, the focus areas include:
- Quality education support
- Healthcare access and awareness
- Nutritional assistance for children
- Overall personality and skill development
Officials noted that these units play a crucial role in integrating education with health and nutrition support, especially in underserved communities.
MoU Signed in Presence of Senior Leadership
The MoU was signed between:
- Rajeev Shrivastava, General Manager (HR&A), GRSE
- Swami Bodhasarananda, Assistant General Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math
The agreement was signed in the presence of senior officials from both organizations, including:
- Cmde PR Hari (Retd.), Chairman & Managing Director, GRSE
- Capt. P. Sunilkumar (Retd.), Director (CP&P), GRSE
- Other senior representatives from GRSE and Ramakrishna Mission

GRSE officials stated that the collaboration reflects the company’s continued commitment to inclusive social development and sustainable community welfare.
They emphasized that the GAP initiative is aligned with long-term efforts to empower children from disadvantaged backgrounds by providing structured support systems for their growth and development.
