Kolkata: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited has announced the appointment of Dinesh Mahur as Part-Time Official Director (Government Nominee Director) on its Board, effective April 30, 2026. The appointment has been made by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.

Appointment Approved by Ministry of Defence

The appointment was communicated through a letter dated April 27, 2026, issued by the Ministry of Defence. It has been disclosed by GRSE in compliance with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

Who is Dinesh Mahur?

Dinesh Mahur currently serves as Additional Secretary in the Department of Defence Production under the Ministry of Defence. He is a 1992-batch officer of the Indian Telecom Service with extensive experience in governance and administration.

His previous roles include:

  • Director, Ministry of Home Affairs
  • Additional Director General, Prasar Bharati
  • Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines

He has worked across multiple key government departments, bringing strong administrative and policy expertise.

Education and Professional Background

Mahur holds strong academic credentials, including:

  • Engineering degree from National Institute of Technology, Allahabad
  • Master’s in Social Studies from the International School of Social Studies, The Hague
  • PGDM in Public Policy and Management from Management Development Institute, Gurugram

GRSE has confirmed that he is not debarred from holding a board position by SEBI or any statutory authority and does not hold any equity shares in the company.

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited is a leading Defence Public Sector Undertaking (DPSU) under the Ministry of Defence. The company is primarily engaged in designing and constructing warships and other naval vessels for the Indian Navy and Coast Guard, along with undertaking select commercial shipbuilding projects. It plays a key role in strengthening India’s maritime defence capabilities and supporting the country’s self-reliance in shipbuilding.
