The Police Commissioner of Telangana’s Rachakonda region, IPS officer Mahesh Murlidhar Bhagwat, believes that a government job, especially in police service, earns a family immense respect in society. To motivate and help the unemployed youth of the region to join the police service, he, along with the District Magistrate, has started special pre-recruitment training. Mr. Bhagwat shared the details of this initiative with Indian Masterminds.

PRE-RECRUITMENT TRAINING

The state of Telangana has vacancies for over 17,000 constables and sub-inspectors right now. These posts will be filled up soon. This recruitment process will take place after almost three years. To help unemployed youths from the region, mostly belonging to lower-income groups, pass the required recruitment exams, Mr. Bhagwat and the DM have arranged special training camps for them.

“To help them, we have conducted a screening test through which we have identified these people. After their identification, we have now launched coaching classes and training workshops for them, for their Prelims and Mains exam. We are doing this with the help of private coaching institutions,” stated Mr. Bhagwat.

ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

A total of 9000 students got themselves screened for identification out of which 6000 were selected for the entrance exam. These youngsters physically appeared for the entrance examination. DCPs, Additional DCPs, and other officers supervised all the arrangements.

“Unemployed youth expressing their passion to join the police department is increasing with every notification and Rachakonda Police will help the aspirants in all possible ways,” the Commissioner said.

THREE CENTRES

The aspirants will be availing of the training opportunity in three centers – LB Nagar Model Market Champapet, Bharathi Engineering College Ibrahimpatnam, and Aurora Engineering College Ghatkesar.

Through these training recruitment programs, the officer and his team are providing help and guidance to over 1200 students in the first batch itself.

“Most likely, the exam will be held by the end of July or in August. By that time, their training will be completed, and they will be ready to take the examination,” he told Indian Masterminds.

Once these aspirants qualify for their preliminary examination, their physical training will begin, after which the aspirants will have to give physical efficiency exam. For this, several ground events will be conducted for which the police coaches will train them adequately.

PAID FOR BY THE POLICE

The officer has conducted pre-recruitment training twice before when over 655 constables and around 100 sub-inspectors got selected from among his trainees.

The free pre-recruitment training program helps poor aspirants who cannot afford paid coaching in private institutions. Well-qualified faculty teach the aspirants till the main examination.

The training is free for the aspirants, but the faculty and arrangements are completely paid for. The Rachakonda Police is paying for the faculty and arrangements on behalf of the aspirants.
