Indian Masterminds Stories

The job of a bureaucrat is never easy. They toil hard, day and night, to protect their people and develop their districts. Their effort to bring light into people’s lives and guide them on the righteous path is never-ending. And for that, we praise and salute them.

From starting a widely known and appreciated movement called ‘Lets Inspirer Bihar’ to giving a facelift to rural Purnea; from dreaming about civil services to working with several Prime Ministers and other powerful people in the Indian Government, today we feature our top stories of the month which would not only inspire you but also influence you to become one of these officers one day.

RECREATING MAGICAL BIHAR

The glorious, though ancient, heritage of Bihar still carries a tremendous magnetic pull. Historians and travellers down the ages have sung paeans to magnificence. Among the few die-hards who have been working ceaselessly to reclaim for Bihar its last glory is senior IPS officer Mr Vikas Vaibhav.

WHEN A WISH COMES TRUE

With that sharp and curious glint in his eyes, the young Frank Noronha saw an impressive-looking cavalcade of cars swooshing past him on the concrete road. With these thoughts, the District Collector of Purnea, Mr Rahul Kumar has started a multipurpose program under the `Jal Jeevan Hariyali Mission’ and some other Government schemes.

TURNING AROUND NILGIRI TEA INDUSTRY

Tea is a staple beverage the world around. It’s not only a stress-buster and anti-oxidant but also known for its aroma and taste. However, Indian tea was synonymous with Darjeeling and Assam Tea. Not, anymore. Nilgiri tea, grown on Western Ghats in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, is now rubbing shoulders with the best tea in the world. Thanks to Ms Supriya Sahu, Principal Secretary, Forest and Environment of Tamil Nadu Government who is also CEO of Indcoserve, India’s largest tea cooperative federation.

COLLECTOR FOR A DAY

On the International Girl Child Day recently, the District Collector of Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh took a decision that reminded the nation of the 2001 Anil Kapoor movie, Nayak! Recalling the good old movie, it portrayed the story of a common journalist who was made the Chief Minister of the state for one day and strived hard to remove corruption.
