“Much answer writing practice, many mock interviews, and understanding the syllabus in a better way, are the keys to my success,” said Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) Examination 2021 1st rank holder Vikrant Sharma. Hailing from Sri Ganganagar, the road to the top has not been easy for him.
When he decided to leave his job for the exam preparation, his father passed away. This incident shook him greatly. But, he did not give up.
And, the way he came out of this tragedy and restructured his exam strategy is an inspiring story that needs to be told. He focused on small goals and completed one first, then moved on to the next.
Held by Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), Rajasthan Administrative Service exam is the most prestigious competitive exam of the state, and RAS officers are included in the state cadre of civil service officers. On the night of 17 November, 2023, the results of RAS 2021 exam were declared, in which, Vikrant Sharma topped the exam and achieved the coveted Rank 1.
In this exclusive video interview with Indian Masterminds, Vikrant Sharma narrated his success story. For RAS, he made short notes, practiced answer writings and gave mock interviews. He said, “From the beginning, I had been preparing only for UPSC. My main aim is CSE. Now that RAS has been cleared, I will try again to crack the UPSC exam.”
