In a significant move to enhance administrative capacity across ministries, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the empanelment of 36 officers for Joint Secretary or equivalent posts in the Government of India. The decision was finalized on Friday, September 19, 2025, and spans multiple services, reflecting the government’s commitment to cross-sectoral expertise and policy leadership.

Officers from Diverse Cadres to Join Top Policy Roles

The empanelled officers belong to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), and various other central services including railways, audit, statistics, postal, defence, and finance. Their appointment is expected to support India’s growing focus on digital governance, infrastructure expansion, tax reforms, public service delivery, and regulatory modernization.
