Bareilly: Bareilly District Magistrate Avinash Kumar arranged a new bicycle for a college student whose bicycle was stolen around three months ago, after she approached his office with a complaint.
The student, identified as Neetu, is from Ramganga Gotiya village in the Aonla area of Bareilly district. She told the District Magistrate that her bicycle had been stolen near the hostel of IIT College, creating difficulties in travelling to college and carrying out other study-related activities.
DM Arranges New Bicycle
After hearing the student’s complaint, Avinash Kumar instructed his staff to take her to the market and arrange a new bicycle for her.
The staff accompanied Neetu to Bareilly’s Bade Bazaar, where a new bicycle was purchased. The District Magistrate subsequently presented the bicycle to her at his office.
Neetu thanked the District Magistrate and said she would continue her studies.
A video showing Neetu with the new bicycle at the District Magistrate’s office was later shared on social media.
Who Is IAS Avinash Kumar?
Avinash Kumar Singh is a 2014-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh-cadre. Born on October 6, 1970, he took charge as the Bareilly District Magistrate and Collector on April 21, 2025.
He currently oversees administration in Bareilly, including law and order, development works and the implementation of government schemes.
