Bharatpur: A family dispute involving Khagaria Superintendent of Police Bhanu Pratap Singh (IPS: 2021: BH) has reached a police station in Rajasthan after his wife, Pooja Kumari, sought police intervention over access to their six-year-old daughter.
Pooja has made several allegations against her husband and his family in videos circulating on social media, including claims that she was prevented from meeting or speaking to her daughter. The allegations have not been established, and Singh has not publicly accepted them.
Wife Seeks Police Help Over Access to Daughter
According to reports, Pooja travelled from Bihar to Bharatpur, Rajasthan, after learning that Singh was there with their daughter.

She allegedly went to her in-laws’ residence but claimed that the door was not opened. She later approached the Mathura Gate police station, where she sought assistance in the family dispute.
Reports said police contacted Singh by phone after Pooja reached the station, where she remained for several hours while seeking intervention.
‘He Wants a Divorce After Becoming an IPS Officer’
In a video circulated on social media, Pooja alleges that her relationship with Singh changed after he entered the IPS.
She says,“After becoming an IPS officer, he wants to take a divorce.”
In another appeal concerning her daughter, she says:
“Can a mother not come to her child?”
Pooja has also alleged harassment and said that her primary concern is maintaining contact with her daughter. These remain allegations made by her.
Couple Reportedly Met in 2015
According to Pooja’s account reported by media outlets, the couple first met in 2015 and later married despite opposition from their families.
She reportedly worked as a teacher at a private school in Bharatpur after their marriage.
Pooja has alleged that their relationship deteriorated after Singh was selected for the Indian Police Service. The family dispute has subsequently become public through social media videos and her approach to the Bharatpur police.

He is currently serving as Superintendent of Police, Khagaria. The official Khagaria district administration website lists him as the district’s SP.
Before his current posting, Singh served in Bihar police assignments including ASP Danapur and City SP (West), Patna, according to recent reports and available service records.
