Patna: Bihar is moving towards a more scientific and standardised system for testing driving skills, with new automated and standard driving testing tracks ready in 32 districts. The Transport Department is expected to begin driving tests on these tracks soon.
The initiative is aimed at making the driving licence examination process more transparent and systematic. Instead of relying on informal testing methods, applicants will have to demonstrate their driving ability on designated tracks featuring routes, signals, turns, parking and other practical challenges.
Driving Testing Tracks Ready in 32 Districts
According to the Transport Department, construction of new driving testing tracks has been completed in 32 districts of Bihar. The facilities are now ready for use, with driving tests expected to begin shortly.
The completed tracks are located in:
Motihari, Purnia, Banka, Nawada, Bhagalpur, Kaimur, Darbhanga, Kishanganj, Nalanda, Sheohar, Samastipur, Jehanabad, Sitamarhi, Rohtas, Munger, Sheikhpura, Jamui, Bettiah, Buxar, Araria, Vaishali, Lakhisarai, Khagaria, Saran, Madhubani, Madhepura, Gaya, Gopalganj, Supaul, Arwal, Saharsa and Siwan.
Construction work in the remaining districts is also at an advanced stage and is expected to be completed soon.

Driving Tests to Follow Defined Standards
The new tracks will provide a fixed environment in which applicants can demonstrate their practical driving skills.
