Patna: The Bihar Panchayati Raj Department has directed all District Panchayati Raj Officers to upload details of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP), Block Panchayat Development Plan (BPDP) and District Panchayat Development Plan (DPDP) for 2026-27 on the e-GramSwaraj portal by August 15.

The directive aims to ensure that development plans are finalised and development works in villages can begin on time.

Plans to Be Uploaded Under People’s Plan Campaign

Panchayati Raj Department Director-cum-Project Director Naveen Kumar Singh issued the directions through a letter to district officials.

The districts have been asked to upload information related to the preparation and approval of the development plans within the prescribed deadline.

The exercise covers three levels of Panchayati Raj planning:

  • GPDP: Gram Panchayat Development Plan
  • BPDP: Block Panchayat Development Plan
  • DPDP: District Panchayat Development Plan

The department has issued the directions under the People’s Plan Campaign, which focuses on strengthening local-level development planning.

District, Block Teams Asked to Verify Data

The department has also asked districts to ensure that the information uploaded on the portal is properly checked.

District- and block-level teams have been directed to examine the plans and supporting documents before completion of the process.

The verification is expected to:

  • Reduce errors in uploaded information.
  • Improve the quality of development plans.
  • Ensure that supporting documents are properly checked.

Focus on Timely Village Development

The online uploading of Panchayat Development Plans will place information related to local development planning on the e-GramSwaraj platform.

The department expects timely completion of the exercise to help ensure that development activities planned for the financial year 2026-27 can move forward without unnecessary delays.

Officials Asked to Give Priority

Director Naveen Kumar Singh has asked officials to accord priority to the exercise and ensure that the August 15 deadline is followed.

The directive places responsibility on district and block-level teams to complete the uploading and verification process within the stipulated timeframe.

Strengthening Digital Local Governance

The move reflects the increasing use of digital platforms in Panchayati Raj planning and monitoring. By bringing GPDP, BPDP and DPDP information online, the process can support better documentation and coordination of development plans at different levels.

Timely and accurate uploading of these plans will be important for ensuring that local development priorities are properly recorded and taken forward during 2026-27.
