Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary on Friday said that the state government is continuously working towards making Bihar more beautiful, modern, and developed.
He highlighted that Patna, one of India’s oldest and most historically significant cities, is being transformed by integrating its rich heritage with modern urban development initiatives.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing an inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony for various urban development projects under the Urban Development and Housing Department.
Focus on Smart Infrastructure and Urban Development
Projects executed by Patna Municipal Corporation, Patna Smart City Limited, and BUIDCO are being fast-tracked to improve:
- Urban infrastructure
- Civic amenities
- City beautification
- Public utility services
The government reiterated its commitment to making Bihar’s cities cleaner, smarter, and globally competitive, aligned with the vision of a “Developed India” and a “Prosperous Bihar.”
₹11.44 Crore JP Narayan Park Under AMRUT 2.0
Under the AMRUT 2.0 initiative, a ₹11.44 crore “Waste to Wonder” themed park has been launched in Patna.
Key features include:
- Dedicated sections showcasing the life and ideology of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan
- Environment-friendly design promoting awareness and sustainability
- Recreational and educational facilities
The park is expected to become a major center for environmental awareness and public engagement.
‘Pataliputra’ Satellite Township Plan Announced
The Chief Minister announced the development of a large-scale satellite township named “Pataliputra”.
Key highlights:
- Development over approximately 66,000 acres
- International-standard residential facilities
- Education, healthcare, and commercial infrastructure
- Entertainment and modern urban amenities
The project aims to transform Patna into a major urban hub with world-class infrastructure.
Expansion of Market and Civic Facilities
To improve urban convenience, the government will implement a vegetable market (Sabzi Haat) scheme across the city.
Benefits include:
- Improved market infrastructure
- Reduced traffic congestion
- Better organization of local trade activities
Startup and Industry Promotion Initiatives
In a dialogue with IT and startup representatives, the Chief Minister announced the development of a “Bihar Tech” portal to boost innovation and entrepreneurship.
He said the initiative will:
- Attract investment
- Promote startups
- Support innovation-driven economic growth
Additionally, the government confirmed the development of 11 satellite townships across Bihar to support urban expansion.
Land Availability and Industrial Growth
The Chief Minister stated that Bihar has sufficient land for industrial development and assured fair compensation to farmers for acquired land.
He emphasized that the government is focused on balancing industrial growth with social and economic fairness.
The Bihar government’s large-scale urban development push aims to transform Patna into a modern, well-planned, and globally competitive city. With satellite townships, smart city projects, startup initiatives, and infrastructure upgrades, the state is positioning itself for long-term sustainable growth while preserving its historical identity.
