Indian Masterminds Stories

Patna: The Bihar Government has announced a series of measures to strengthen the state’s education system, with a focus on quality education, transparent examinations, student welfare and better coordination between departments.

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced the decisions on Sunday, including two state-level committees, directorates in relevant departments and special Sahyog Shivir camps.

The measures aim to build a more student-centric education system and improve the implementation of education-related initiatives across Bihar.

Committee to Ensure Quality Education

The government has constituted a state-level committee for quality education to ensure that quality learning reaches every school.

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said the committee will work towards transforming schools into centres of excellence and ensuring continuous improvement in students’ learning levels.

The initiative will focus on improving the quality of education and identifying areas where schools require greater support.

The government wants the education system to place greater emphasis on actual learning outcomes alongside infrastructure and enrolment.

Examination Reforms to Bring Transparency

A separate state-level examination reforms committee has been constituted to make examinations in Bihar smoother, fairer, transparent and more modern.

The committee will suggest measures to assess students more effectively, particularly their:

  • Knowledge and understanding
  • Analytical abilities
  • Overall learning outcomes

The government will also examine the use of technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in assessments.

The proposed reforms will cover board examinations, competitive examinations and classroom-based assessments.

The move is aimed at making examinations more transparent while using modern technology to improve the assessment process.

Special Sahyog Shivir to Address Students’ Problems

The government will organise Special Sahyog Shivir as part of its education reform programme.

These camps will provide students with a direct platform to discuss their problems and put forward suggestions.

The Chief Minister, ministers, MPs, MLAs and students will participate in these interactions.

The camps will focus on:

  • Suggestions for improving the education system
  • Problems faced by students
  • Issues requiring government intervention
  • Ideas for further education reforms

The government expects these direct interactions to help identify problems at the grassroots level and improve policy implementation.

At the same time, directorates will be constituted in all relevant departments to ensure better coordination and effective implementation of initiatives related to student welfare.

Education Initiatives Taken During First 100 Days

The latest announcements add to several major decisions taken by the Samrat Choudhary government during its first 100 days.

The government has outlined measures aimed at comprehensive reform of Bihar’s education system and creating better opportunities for students.

  • Appointment of 1 lakh teachers over the next five years
  • Transparent transfer of teachers
  • Development of model schools in all blocks
  • Academic activities in degree colleges across 211 blocks

The government is also pushing technology-based education through Bihar School Live Classes, smart classes and AI-based learning systems.

These initiatives are intended to give students access to modern teaching methods and additional learning resources.

Free JEE-NEET Preparation for Economically Weaker Students

The government has also arranged free JEE and NEET preparation for economically weaker students, helping them prepare for competitive exams without the burden of private coaching fees.

Overall, the measures address key areas of Bihar’s education system, including learning, teacher management, examinations, technology and competitive exam preparation. The reforms aim to improve education quality, strengthen the examination system and create better opportunities for students.

If implemented effectively, the initiatives could support Bihar’s human resource development, employment opportunities and social mobility while making education more accessible and student-centric.
