New Delhi: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has announced the appointment of Mr. Pushp Kumar Nayar as Director (Human Resources) on its Board, effective May 27, 2026. The decision marks an important leadership update aimed at strengthening the company’s human resource strategy and organizational development initiatives.

The appointment was approved during BPCL’s Board of Directors meeting held on May 27, 2026, following a communication from the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India.

Appointment Approved by BPCL Board and MoPNG

According to the company’s regulatory filing, the Board cleared the appointment after receiving official approval and communication from the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG).

Mr. Pushp Kumar Nayar will serve as Director (Human Resources) until the date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The appointment has been disclosed under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, and reported to both BSE Limited and NSE.

Career Profile of Pushp Kumar Nayar

Before joining the Board as Director (HR), Mr. Pushp Kumar Nayar served as Executive Director (Corporate HR) at BPCL.

He is a graduate from the University of Delhi and holds an MBA in Business Administration from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

With over 35 years of experience, Nayar has worked across multiple business verticals including:

  • Marketing
  • Retail operations
  • Lubricants business
  • Supply chain management
  • Human resources leadership

He has also been on deputation with Indraprastha Gas Limited and has handled several leadership roles across regional offices, headquarters, and supply chain divisions within BPCL.

HR Leadership Experience and Key Contributions

In his HR leadership roles, Nayar has been involved in several strategic initiatives, including:

  • Talent development and workforce planning
  • Succession planning for key roles
  • Organizational culture transformation
  • AI-driven HR analytics and digital HR initiatives

These contributions reflect BPCL’s broader focus on building a future-ready workforce supported by data-driven decision-making.

Board Roles and Corporate Governance Profile

Apart from his new role at BPCL, Pushp Kumar Nayar currently serves as Chairman of Arunachal Gas Private Limited.

He has also previously served on the boards of:

  • Central UP Gas Limited
  • Sabarmati Gas Limited

The company has confirmed that he is not debarred from holding a director position by any SEBI order or other regulatory authority. BPCL also clarified that he is not related to any Director or Key Managerial Personnel of the company.

Additionally, he holds 15,048 equity shares in BPCL, as disclosed in the filing.
