- Retired IAS PWC Davidar
Retired IAS officer PWC Davidar has been appointed as Advisor (Digital and Simplified Governance) to Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency (TNeGA). An order was issued in this regard, on Sunday, by Neeraj Mittal, Principal Secretary to the government, Information Technology department.
In the month of July, Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Tamil Nadu, during his address in the legislative assembly made an announcement that government will make efforts to ensure transparency and accountability by promoting e-governance & proving substantially enhanced government services through online mode.
The reason for the announcement was to digitally transform the whole government approach which aimed at offering services in ‘anytime, anywhere’ model to citizens. All this entails the large-scale digital transformation of government processes and procedures, migration of paper-based file processing to e-office, creation of e-dashboard, etc.
Hence, TNeGA needed the assistance of a retired officer who was possessing administrative experience in handling various government departments at the senior level. Mr. Davidar’s appointment is purely honorary without any remuneration. However, he will be entitled to office space, attendant staff, vehicle, telephone and TA/DA facility.
