Director General of Police Vijay Kumar congratulated the Women Power Line 1090 and the entire team on receiving the ET Government Digitech Silver Award for the year 2023 for the Integrated Smart Control Room ISCR of Lucknow Safe City.

With the objective of strengthening the safety of women, the Women Safety Division, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has launched the Safe City project in eight metropolitan cities of the country, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Calcutta, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad and Lucknow with Nirbhaya Fund.

In UP, the project, successfully implemented under the Yogi Adityanath led state government, is being monitored by WCSO as the nodal agency.

The award was received by ADG WCSO, Mrs. Anupama Kulshrestha (IPS), at a ceremony held in Goa on August 5, 2023. Lucknow Safe City’s Integrated Smart Control Room (ISC) will produce automatic alerts for almost 45 kinds of incidents relating to crimes against women, through the integration of CCTV surveillance and AI-based analytics.

A ‘user-friendly mobile app’ further allows the general public to effortlessly register their concerns online with the ISC.
