New Delhi: The Government of India has approved the entrustment of additional charge of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited (KIOCL), Bengaluru, to C Neelakanta Reddy, IRSSE (1997).
Reddy is currently serving as CVO of National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), Hyderabad. He will continue in his existing role while handling the additional responsibility at KIOCL.
C Neelakanta Reddy Appointed KIOCL CVO with Additional Charge
According to a Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) Office Memorandum dated September 25, 2026, Reddy has been entrusted with the additional charge of CVO of KIOCL.
The additional charge will be effective from the date he assumes charge.

Reddy to Continue as NMDC CVO
While taking on the additional responsibility at KIOCL, C Neelakanta Reddy will continue to serve as Chief Vigilance Officer of NMDC, Hyderabad.
The additional charge arrangement allows him to oversee vigilance-related responsibilities at KIOCL while continuing his existing duties at NMDC, subject to the terms and conditions specified in the government order.
Appointment Follows Ministry of Steel Proposal
The decision follows a proposal from the Ministry of Steel.
The proposal was referenced in a Ministry memorandum dated September 18, 2026, following which the Department of Personnel & Training issued the order approving the additional charge arrangement.
The order has been issued by the DoPT under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions.
KIOCL CVO Charge for One Year
Reddy will hold the additional charge of KIOCL CVO for one year from the date he assumes charge.
However, the arrangement will end earlier if:
- A regular CVO is appointed at KIOCL.
- Further orders are issued by the government.
Thus, the one-year period represents the maximum tenure specified under the current additional-charge arrangement, subject to the appointment of a regular CVO or further government directions.
