G Poonguzhali is a 2014-batch IPS officer of the Kerala cadre. Before her induction into the CBI, she was serving as Assistant Inspector General of Police (Personnel) at the Kerala Police Headquarters.
In her role at the police headquarters, she was associated with personnel-related responsibilities within the Kerala Police establishment. Her central deputation will last five years.
Poonguzhali has also been reported as the investigating officer in the case involving former Kerala MLA Rahul Mamkootathil. A report published on October 20, 2026, stated that she was expected to complete the relevant investigation-related formalities before joining the CBI.
Her induction marks a move from police administration and investigation-related responsibilities in Kerala to the CBI.

Juvvanapudi Mahesh is a 2020-batch IPS officer of the Kerala cadre. Before his induction into the CBI, he was serving as Superintendent of Police in the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau’s Southern Range in Thiruvananthapuram.

Before his induction, Singh was serving as an Assistant Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax in the Delhi region, according to the published appointment report.
Singh has been inducted as SP in the CBI for three years. His appointment brings an officer from the Income Tax Department into the central investigative agency on deputation, with a tenure shorter than the five-year periods specified for the three IPS officers.
Deputation Tenures of the Four Officers
The appointments cover officers from two services and three cadre or service groupings. Tripti Bhatt belongs to the Uttarakhand cadre, while G Poonguzhali and Juvvanapudi Mahesh belong to the Kerala cadre. Abhishek Pradeepkumar Singh comes from the IRS (Income Tax).
The three IPS officers have been inducted for five years each, while Singh’s deputation is for three years. These appointments bring officers with backgrounds in state police administration, vigilance and anti-corruption work, and revenue administration into the CBI at the SP level.
The appointments are part of the staffing arrangements through which officers from different services serve in central investigative organisations on deputation.
