Ranchi, Jharkhand: The two-day National Seminar on “Latest Advancement in Use of Explosives and Blasting Technology in Mines and Way Forward”, organized by Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) under the aegis of the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), concluded today with extensive technical deliberations, expert-led presentations, and high-level discussions aimed at strengthening safety and efficiency in India’s mining sector.
Deliberations on DGMS Draft Guidelines for Advanced Detonation Systems
The final day began with a detailed review of the draft guidelines prepared by DGMS on the use of E-Exploders and Electronic Detonators. Experts examined technological requirements, safety benchmarks, and operational challenges associated with adopting advanced detonation systems in Indian mines. The session highlighted the need for clear protocols as the industry transitions to modern, automated blasting technologies.
Technical Sessions Spotlight Modern Blasting Innovations
Three comprehensive technical sessions followed, featuring scientists, researchers, and mining professionals from across the country. The discussions focused on:
