New Delhi: The Centre has approved the extension of deputation tenures for two IAS officers serving as Directors of Census Operations (DCO) and Directors of Citizen Registration (DCR) in Uttarakhand and Haryana. The decision was formalized by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

Iva Ashish Srivastava Continues as DCO/DCR, Uttarakhand

Iva Ashish Srivastava (IAS:2010:UK) has been serving as Director of Census Operations and Director of Citizen Registration, Uttarakhand, since April 2, 2023. Her initial tenure was scheduled to conclude in early April 2026.

As per the latest DoPT order issued on January 29, 2026, her deputation has now been extended till December 31, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Lalit Jain to Continue as DCO/DCR, Haryana

Lalit Jain (IAS:2011:HP), serving as Director of Census Operations and Director of Citizen Registration, Haryana, since December 6, 2023, will now continue in the role until December 6, 2028.

His initial tenure was due to end on December 31, 2025, but was later extended to December 6, 2026. The latest DoPT order further extends his deputation for another two years or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Jain has been instrumental in implementing citizen registration programs and managing census operations across Haryana during his tenure.

DoPT and ACC Approvals

Both extensions were approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, with formal orders issued by the Department of Personnel and Training. These moves ensure continuity in critical administrative functions related to census operations and citizen registration in the respective states, providing stability and leadership during ongoing government initiatives.
