Chandigarh Administration Assigns New Responsibilities to IAS Officers; D. Karthikeyan Gets Key Posts

In another development, Naveen, who is currently serving as Chief General Manager of Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO), has been given additional responsibility.

Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Administration has announced a fresh allocation of responsibilities among IAS officers following recent changes in postings.

The reshuffle comes after the joining of D. Karthikeyan on April 30, 2026 (forenoon), and the relieving of Abhijit Vijay Chaudhari (Dr.) from the administration on the same day (afternoon).

D. Karthikeyan Assigned Multiple Key Roles

As per the official order, D. Karthikeyan has been entrusted with several important responsibilities, reflecting a significant administrative role within the Union Territory. His new assignments include:

  • Secretary, Information Technology
  • Secretary, Vigilance
  • Secretary, Agriculture
  • Secretary, Architecture
  • Chief Executive Officer, Chandigarh Housing Board

He will take over certain charges previously held by other officers, including relieving Mohamed Tanveer I. of the Agriculture portfolio, and Pardeep Kumar of the Architecture Department and the Chandigarh Housing Board responsibilities.

Interim Arrangement at CITCO

In another development, Naveen, who is currently serving as Chief General Manager of Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO), has been given additional responsibility.

He will look after the routine work of Managing Director, CITCO, until Syed Ahed Rashid Shah assumes charge.

Administrative Continuity Ensured

The latest reshuffle is aimed at ensuring smooth administrative functioning and continuity in key departments within the Chandigarh Administration. Such periodic reallocation of responsibilities helps maintain efficiency and effective governance.
