MECL Signs MoU with Geovale to Boost Critical Mineral Exploration and Supply Chain in India

New Delhi: Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Geovale Services Pvt. Ltd. to enhance collaboration in India’s mineral exploration sector.

The agreement marks a significant step toward strengthening the country’s critical mineral supply chains and advancing resource assessment capabilities.

MoU Signed in Presence of Senior Officials

The MoU was formally signed by Pankaj Pandey and Biplob Chatterjee in the presence of Indra Dev Narayan and other senior officials from MECL.

The collaboration reflects a strong public–private partnership approach aimed at boosting efficiency and innovation in mineral exploration.

Focus on Critical Minerals and Resource Development

The partnership will focus on the exploration and development of critical and strategic minerals, which are essential for India’s industrial growth, clean energy transition, and technological advancement.

Both organizations will work together to:

  • Strengthen mineral supply chains
  • Conduct systematic exploration of mineral blocks
  • Improve data-driven resource evaluation

Key Areas of Collaboration

Under the agreement, MECL and Geovale will collaborate across multiple technical and operational domains, including:

  • Support for critical mineral block exploration
  • Technical due diligence for mining projects
  • Pre-feasibility and feasibility studies
  • Advanced geophysical surveys
  • Hydrogeological assessments

This integrated approach is expected to enhance the quality and reliability of exploration outcomes.

Boost to India’s Strategic Mineral Goals

The collaboration aligns with India’s broader vision of achieving resource security and reducing dependency on imports of critical minerals.

By combining MECL’s expertise as a government enterprise with Geovale’s capabilities as a Notified Private Exploration Agency (NPEA), the partnership aims to accelerate mineral discovery and development in a structured and efficient manner.
