Raipur: Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai attended the annual convention of the All India Kanwar Community held at Boirdadar in Raigarh as the chief guest, emphasizing the government’s commitment to tribal welfare, education, and overall development. During the event, Mr. Sai inaugurated the first floor of a community building constructed at a cost of Rs 30 lakh, fulfilling a long-standing demand of the community. The Chief Minister received a traditional and grand welcome from senior members of the Kanwar community.
Education: The True Strength of Society
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Sai emphasized that the progress of any society is closely linked to education. He stated that educating every son and daughter is not just a pathway to employment but a foundation for achieving success in all fields. He urged citizens to take full advantage of the various welfare schemes implemented by the Chhattisgarh government, highlighting that these initiatives are particularly beneficial for tribal communities across the state.
Tribal Welfare and Government Initiatives
Paying tribute to the contributions of tribal communities to India’s freedom struggle, the Chief Minister noted that Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has elevated the status of tribal communities by declaring November 15 as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, commemorating Bhagwan Birsa Munda Jayanti. Mr. Sai also referred to Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh and PM Janman programs, describing them as the most significant tribal welfare initiatives since Independence, aimed at providing essential facilities and accelerating development in tribal areas.
Highlighting the Silver Jubilee of Chhattisgarh statehood, he recalled the inauguration of the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Tribal Freedom Fighter Memorial-cum-Museum in Raipur by the Prime Minister, showcasing the sacrifices and valour of the state’s tribal heroes. Mr. Sai described this as a source of pride for the state’s tribal communities.
Development, Industry, and Naxalism Reduction
The Chief Minister reviewed Chhattisgarh’s developmental journey over the past 25 years, acknowledging the role of former Prime Minister Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee in initiating reforms in PDS, road connectivity, electricity, drinking water, education, and healthcare. He highlighted that development has now reached every village in the state. Addressing security concerns, Mr. Sai stated that Naxalism has been significantly reduced due to government efforts and is now “breathing its last,” with a target set by the Central Government to eliminate it by March 31, 2026.
On the economic front, he mentioned the state’s new industrial policy, noting that proposals worth over Rs 8 lakh crore have been received. The government aims to link youth with employment and self-employment opportunities, while continuing schemes to empower all communities across Chhattisgarh.
Announcements for Kanwar Community Development
Mr. Sai made several important announcements for the Kanwar community, including:
- Construction of an additional cultural building at Boirdadar, Raigarh
- Construction of a CC road connecting the community premises to the main road
- A new community hall at Turtura in Lailunga
- Expansion of existing community buildings in Lailunga and Gharghoda
These initiatives aim to enhance community infrastructure and promote cultural and social development.
