Sarangarh-Bilaigarh: During the ongoing Sushasan Tihar initiative, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visited Bikhampara village in the Baramkela development block of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district on Thursday. The visit focused on reviewing development works and inspecting houses being constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
The Chief Minister also interacted with families of the Sapera community living in the locality, listened to their concerns, and directed officials to ensure immediate resolution of their issues.
CM Reviews Construction of Houses Under PM Awas Yojana
During his visit, the Chief Minister inspected the ongoing construction of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and assessed the progress of development works in the village.
He stated that the government’s primary objective is to ensure that the benefits of development and welfare schemes reach every eligible citizen, especially those at the last mile of society.
He instructed officials to complete all approved housing projects and infrastructure works within the stipulated time frame while maintaining quality standards.
Interaction with Sapera Community and Resolution of Grievances
The Chief Minister directly interacted with residents of the Sapera community, many of whom shared that they had been living in kutcha houses for nearly 35 years.
Beneficiaries expressed happiness that their long-standing dream of having permanent housing is now becoming a reality through government schemes.
The Chief Minister assured them of timely resolution of issues such as caste certificates and other administrative requirements, directing officials to expedite the process.
Development of Basic Infrastructure in Bikhampara Village
Bikhampara village is witnessing major development activities, including:
- Construction of 68 PM Awas Yojana houses
- Development of CC roads and basic infrastructure
- Implementation of multiple welfare schemes
Several government schemes are actively reaching beneficiaries in the area, including:
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
- Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana
- Public Distribution System
- Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana
- Jal Jeevan Mission
These initiatives aim to improve living standards and ensure access to essential services.
Housing Allocation and Future Plans
Officials informed that:
- 25 houses were sanctioned in 2024–25
- 14 houses were sanctioned in 2025–26
- 14 houses were approved under the Chief Minister Awas Yojana
- 10 additional eligible families have been included under the Awas Plus 2.0 survey
The government reiterated its commitment to providing pucca housing to every eligible family.
Public Outreach and Humanitarian Gestures
During the visit, the Chief Minister:
- Distributed chocolates to children
- Provided crutches to a differently-abled beneficiary, Ramabai Sidar
- Interacted warmly with villagers, creating a positive atmosphere
His outreach was widely appreciated by local residents, who expressed satisfaction with the government’s welfare efforts.
“One Tree in Mother’s Name” Campaign Participation
As part of the environmental initiative “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai planted a Kadam sapling in the village, reinforcing the message of environmental conservation alongside rural development.
The visit by Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted the government’s focus on inclusive development, rural housing, and welfare delivery in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district. The ongoing implementation of PM Awas Yojana and other schemes is expected to significantly improve living conditions for tribal and economically weaker communities in the region.
