Raipur/Jashpur:  Under the leadership of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, women empowerment and modernisation of agriculture are gaining momentum in Chhattisgarh. Women from self-help groups (SHGs) in Jashpur district are emerging as a new symbol of progress through advanced skill training under the Namo Drone Didi Scheme.

These selected women are currently undergoing specialised drone operation and remote pilot training at ITM University in Raipur.

Skill Training in Drone Operations and Precision Farming

The training programme is focused on equipping women with advanced agricultural technology skills. Participants are being trained in:

  • Drone technical structure and functioning
  • Safe flight operations
  • Remote piloting techniques
  • Aerial spraying of fertilizers and pesticides
  • Drone maintenance and servicing
  • Practical applications in modern agriculture

This initiative is aimed at connecting women with technology-driven agriculture and creating new self-employment opportunities in the sector.

Boost to Modern Agriculture and Rural Employment

After completing the training, the “Drone Didis” will provide drone-based agricultural services in Jashpur district. These services will include the application of nano-fertilizers, pesticides, and other crop management operations using drones.

The use of drone technology is expected to make farming:

  • Faster and more efficient
  • Cost-effective
  • Scientifically advanced
  • Higher in productivity

This will also promote precision farming practices across the region.

CM Vishnu Deo Sai’s Vision for Women Empowerment

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai had recently flagged off a bus carrying the women trainees during his visit to Jashpur. Earlier, on April 17, 2026, during the “Lakhpati Didi” programme at Ranjita Stadium, drone kits and advanced soil testing machines were also distributed to beneficiaries.

The initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to integrating women with modern technology and expanding employment opportunities in rural areas.

Strengthening Technology-Driven Agriculture in Jashpur

According to the Deputy Director of Agriculture, Jashpur, the trained women will soon operate across various development blocks, offering tech-enabled agricultural services to farmers.

The programme is expected to:

  • Reduce farming time and operational costs
  • Increase agricultural efficiency
  • Enhance crop yield and productivity
  • Strengthen women-led self-help group economies

Major Step Toward Rural Economic Empowerment

The district administration and agriculture department believe that this initiative will play a crucial role in promoting technology-based farming in Jashpur. It will also strengthen the financial independence of women self-help groups while contributing to increased farmer incomes in the region.

Under the vision of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh continues to advance towards a model of women-led rural development powered by innovation and modern agricultural practices.
