Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, approved 23 proposals covering infrastructure, education, employment, agriculture, industrial development and urban development.
Among the major decisions were approval for the ₹1,008.67-crore Chitrakoot Link Expressway, development of 14,429 primary schools as smart schools, 20% reservation for former Agniveers in selected state recruitments and a new policy to promote toy manufacturing.
₹1,008.67 Crore Chitrakoot Link Expressway Approved
The Cabinet approved the development of a 15.172-km, access-controlled, six-lane greenfield Chitrakoot Link Expressway.
The project will be constructed under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model.

The expressway will connect the Bundelkhand region with Chitrakoot Dham, according to the state government.
20% Reservation for Ex-Agniveers in Two Recruitments
The Cabinet also approved reservation provisions for former Agniveers in selected state government recruitments.
Former Agniveers will receive:
- 20% reservation in direct recruitment to the post of jail warder.
- 20% horizontal reservation in recruitment to the post of enforcement constable (transport).
- Relaxation in the prescribed upper age limit.
Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said the decisions were intended to provide employment opportunities to youth who have completed their military service.
14,429 Primary Schools to Be Developed as Smart Schools
The Cabinet approved a proposal to develop 14,429 primary schools under the Basic Education Council as smart schools.
The decision is part of the state’s education-related measures approved during the meeting.
Loans Up to ₹6 Lakh for Small and Marginal Farmers
Under the Mukhyamantri Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, small and marginal farmers will be eligible for long-term loans of up to ₹6 lakh at an annual interest rate of 6% through the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Gram Vikas Bank Ltd.
Toy Manufacturing Policy Gets Cabinet Nod
The Cabinet approved the Uttar Pradesh Toy Manufacturing Promotion Policy-2025.
The policy is intended to promote toy manufacturing, attract investment and create employment opportunities in the state.
Ethanol Plant, WorldFish Project Among Other Decisions
Several other industrial and development proposals were also approved.
These include:
- A 120 KLPD ethanol production plant at Chhata Sugar Company Ltd in Mathura through a concession-cum-lease arrangement.
- An MoU between the Uttar Pradesh government, Fisheries Department and WorldFish for implementing the WorldFish project in the Purvanchal region.
- An increase in the financial powers of officials under financial rules for works in engineering departments.
- An additional ₹25 per quintal margin money for fair-price shop dealers based on the quantity of foodgrains distributed.
65 Acres in Ayodhya Allocated for NSG Centre
The Cabinet approved the free allotment of approximately 65 acres of barren land in Pure Lal Khan village of Milkipur tehsil in Ayodhya to the Union government.
The land will be used for establishing a Regional Centre of the National Security Guard (NSG).
The Cabinet also approved exemption from applicable stamp duty and registration fees on tenancy and lease deeds for periods of up to 10 years.
Urban Development Projects in Lucknow, Unnao and Rae Bareli
Funding-related proposals for the development of Lucknow, Unnao and Rae Bareli under the Mukhyamantri Shahari Vistarikaran/Naye Shahar Protsahan Yojana were also approved.
The Cabinet further approved a proposal concerning completion of the already sanctioned Hi-Tech Township project in Lucknow.
Automated Testing Stations Policy Amended
The Cabinet approved amendments to the policy governing the establishment of Automated Testing Stations (ATS) for vehicle inspection.
The stations are intended to assess the technical fitness of vehicles under the state’s vehicle-testing framework.
The 23 decisions collectively cover infrastructure, employment, education, agriculture, industrial development, urban expansion and administrative measures across Uttar Pradesh.
