Sports Infrastructure to Get a Major Push

The Chief Minister asked officials to prepare a comprehensive action plan to improve sports infrastructure across the state. He said all Sandipani Schools have sufficient land and should be considered for new sports complexes.

He also directed the Sports Department to work closely with the School Education, Higher Education, Technical Education, Tribal Affairs, Panchayat and Rural Development departments, and the Youth Commission.

Speed Up Pending Projects

Dr Yadav instructed officials to fast-track pending sports projects by coordinating with district collectors for land allocation. He also suggested creating a Civil Wing within the Sports Department to monitor construction and maintain sports facilities.

Other key directions include:

  • Speed up projects under the CM Yuva Shakti Yojana.
  • Analyse district-wise sports performance over the last five years.
  • Develop infrastructure for sports in which districts have performed well.
  • Include helipad facilities in new sports complexes.
  • Maintain regular coordination with the Union Sports Ministry for central assistance.

Learning from Successful Models

The Chief Minister asked officials to study sports infrastructure models in Haryana and Odisha, where private companies have played an important role in sports development.

He also proposed setting up a Project Management Unit (PMU) to improve the planning, execution and monitoring of sports infrastructure projects across Madhya Pradesh.

Focus on Youth and Sports Development

The decisions reflect the state’s focus on youth empowerment and better sports infrastructure. By improving training facilities, rewarding athletes and expanding sports infrastructure, the government aims to create more opportunities for young sportspersons and strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s sporting ecosystem.
