Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced a major youth-focused push at the CM Youth Conclave 2026, with more than 20,000 young people taking part at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal on October 6.
The conclave, organised by the Higher Education Department, brought students, aspiring entrepreneurs and young professionals together around employment, higher education, skills, research, startups and emerging technologies. During his interaction with participants, Yadav announced that the state would hold two MPPSC examinations every year from 2027, while 2027 will be observed as Youth Year.
The Chief Minister also announced an increase in research scholarship support from ₹16,000 to ₹25,000 per month, free competitive-exam coaching in government colleges and a series of initiatives aimed at connecting young people with jobs, technology and entrepreneurship.
Two MPPSC Exams Every Year From 2027
One of the most significant announcements for government-job aspirants was the decision to conduct two MPPSC examinations every year from 2027.
The move is intended to provide candidates with more frequent opportunities to appear for the state’s competitive examination instead of depending on a single annual cycle.
The announcement was made as part of the state’s plan to observe 2027 as Youth Year, with the government positioning the year around education, employment, skills, innovation and opportunities for young people.
For thousands of aspirants preparing for state civil services and other competitive examinations, more frequent examination cycles could mean greater flexibility in planning their attempts and career timelines.

Research Scholars to Get ₹25,000 Monthly
Higher education and research also received attention at the conclave.
The Chief Minister announced that the monthly research scholarship for scholars would rise from ₹16,000 to ₹25,000. The measure is aimed at encouraging research in higher education and giving students stronger financial support while pursuing academic work.
The state also announced plans to establish 12 new medical colleges and 12 skill universities focused on employment-oriented courses in the coming year.
Another announcement was the expansion of the Gaon Ki Beti and Pratibha Kiran schemes to cover postgraduate female students, widening the scope of existing educational support.

Free Coaching in Government Colleges
The government will also arrange free coaching for competitive examinations in government colleges across all districts.
The initiative could particularly benefit students who cannot afford private coaching and currently rely on self-study or limited local resources.
Alongside coaching, the government plans to establish advanced artificial intelligence and advanced computing laboratories in government colleges, bringing emerging technology closer to students outside major urban centres.
The state also plans to appoint a dedicated agency to improve college placements and connect young people with employment opportunities.
₹5 Crore Idea Fund for Startups
The youth agenda at the conclave extended beyond government employment.
The state announced a provision for a ₹5 crore Idea Fund to encourage promising startup ideas. During the interaction, the Chief Minister also said the government provides grants of up to around ₹5 lakh per youth for startups, highlighting the push towards entrepreneurship.
The Madhya Pradesh Startup Centre and CEDMAP were among the organisations showcasing entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities at the conclave.
The broader objective is to encourage young people not only to seek jobs but also to develop businesses and create employment for others.

AI, Robotics, Drones and EVs Take Centre Stage
More than 80 exhibition stalls at the Lal Parade Ground showcased opportunities and initiatives related to education, employment, research, technology, startups and government schemes.
The technology-focused displays covered areas including:
- Artificial intelligence and advanced computing
- Robotics and drone technology
- Semiconductor technology
- Renewable energy
- Electric vehicles
- Innovation and startup development
Universities, government departments and startups also presented projects and career-related opportunities.
Seventeen government departments and institutions participated, covering areas such as higher education, technical education, MSMEs, industrial policy, science and technology, labour, health, transport, AYUSH, police and cybersecurity.
The police department also used the platform to highlight cybersecurity, women’s safety, traffic awareness and public safety.

85,000 Government Jobs and New Technology Hubs
During his address, Yadav said Madhya Pradesh has provided around 85,000 government jobs across different sectors so far.
He also highlighted the state’s plans for expanding infrastructure and technology-linked employment opportunities. These include IT parks in Indore and Rewa, expansion of IT-related activities in Ujjain, an AI city and science-related infrastructure, and work towards a major telecom hub in Gwalior.
The Chief Minister also said the state is developing opportunities around AI, semiconductors and other emerging technologies, with the aim of linking young people with industries and new forms of employment.
Youth, Skills and Employment at One Platform
The CM Youth Conclave was designed to bring several parts of the youth ecosystem together at one venue.
Instead of focusing only on government recruitment, the event connected competitive examinations with higher education, research, technology, startups, skill development and self-employment.
The state also announced plans to create 500 new NSS units, connect one lakh young people with skill-upgradation programmes and establish working women’s hostels in every division. A ₹1 crore fund for research institutions through the university fund was also announced.
A portal for Youth Year 2027 is also planned, where young people will be able to submit ideas and suggestions that the government can consider for implementation.

A Youth-Focused Roadmap for Madhya Pradesh
The conclave combined policy announcements with direct interaction between the Chief Minister and young participants. The presence of students, startups, universities, government departments and technology-focused organisations made the event broader than a conventional employment programme.
The cultural programme added another dimension, with singer Jubin Nautiyal and Mumbai-based musical group Kabir Cafe performing for participants.
The larger significance of the CM Youth Conclave lies in the attempt to connect Madhya Pradesh’s young population with multiple pathways — from government examinations and research to startups, technology, skills and private-sector employment.
With 2027 designated as Youth Year, the announcements made in Bhopal could form the basis of a wider youth-development agenda focused not only on creating job seekers, but also on building researchers, entrepreneurs, skilled professionals and future employers.
