The total contract value, including operations and maintenance (O&M) and taxes, stands at approximately ₹3,490 crore.

Coal India Expands Renewable Energy Footprint

The project marks a significant milestone as it is the first confirmed solar EPC award from Coal India to SWREL, signaling the PSU’s strategic shift from conventional coal operations toward large-scale renewable energy development.

Located in Bikaner, Rajasthan, one of India’s most solar-rich regions, the project will include:

  • Turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC)
  • Grid connectivity infrastructure

SWREL Wins Additional 50 MW Solar Order in Maharashtra

Alongside the Coal India project, SWREL has secured another 50 MW AC solar PV project from a leading private independent power producer (IPP) in Maharashtra.

Combined, the new domestic orders amount to approximately ₹3,550 crore.

FY26 Order Inflow Crosses ₹10,000 Crore

With these latest wins, SWREL’s total EPC order inflow for FY26 has surpassed ₹10,062 crore, significantly exceeding its internal target for the year.

Company management highlighted that the milestone reflects strong demand in India’s renewable energy sector and SWREL’s execution capabilities across large-scale solar projects.

Management Commentary

Commenting on the development, Chandra Kishore Thakur, Global CEO of SWREL, said:

“We are delighted to announce our first project from Coal India and to partner in their renewable energy growth story. Closing FY26 with over ₹10,000 crore in EPC inflows is a significant achievement and well above our initial target.”

He added that India’s renewable energy growth trajectory remains strong and SWREL is well-positioned to sustain momentum.

Strong Global Execution Capability

SWREL continues to strengthen its position as a leading global solar EPC player with:

  • 26.1 GWp total portfolio (commissioned + under construction)
  • 10.1 GWp solar O&M portfolio
  • Presence across 28 countries, including India, Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Australia
