New Delhi: Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) has awarded an ₹89.09 crore contract to Eastern Railway for the manufacture and supply of 12 rakes of specialised BLSS wagons, strengthening its rolling stock capacity and supporting freight movement through the Dedicated Freight Corridor network.
The domestic capital expenditure contract, including GST, has been placed with the Chief Workshop Manager, Jamalpur Locomotive Workshop, Eastern Railway, Munger, Bihar.
The transaction is a non-related party transaction and is aimed at expanding CONCOR’s rolling stock asset base to support its growing logistics and container transportation operations.
CONCOR to Procure 12 Rakes of BLSS Wagons
Under the agreement, Eastern Railway’s Jamalpur Workshop will manufacture and supply 12 rakes of Bogie Low container Spine car (BLSS) wagons to CONCOR.
The wagons will also be supplied with Brake Van Type BVCM, as part of the procurement order.

Rolling Stock Expansion to Support Freight Operations
The latest procurement forms part of CONCOR’s efforts to strengthen its rolling stock asset base and expand its transport capacity.
The addition of specialised container wagons is expected to help the company make better use of India’s expanding rail freight infrastructure, including the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) network.
By increasing its wagon capacity, CONCOR aims to strengthen its ability to move containerised cargo efficiently across the country.
CONCOR Reports ₹277.65 Crore Q1 FY27 Net Profit
The contract announcement comes alongside a stable financial performance by CONCOR in the first quarter of FY27.
The company reported:
- Standalone revenue from operations: ₹2,154.04 crore in Q1 FY27
- Standalone net profit: ₹277.65 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026
- Interim dividend: 32%, equivalent to ₹1.60 per equity share of ₹5 face value
Net Profit Rises 7.73% Year-on-Year
CONCOR’s standalone net profit increased 7.73% year-on-year to ₹277.65 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with ₹257.71 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Standalone revenue from operations also increased marginally by 0.21% year-on-year, reaching ₹2,154.04 crore. The performance indicates a relatively stable operating base during the quarter.
