New Delhi: Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) has initiated a new export cargo routing from its Inland Container Depot (ICD) Dhandarikalan in Ludhiana, Punjab, to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) in Mumbai through its Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) at Dadri.
The new routing is aimed at reducing overall transit time for JNPT-bound export containers and improving the efficiency of freight movement from the Punjab region. The first train under the new routing was dispatched from ICD Dhandarikalan on August 29, 2026.
CONCOR Starts New Export Route from Ludhiana to JNPT
Under the revised logistics arrangement, export containers booked at ICD Dhandarikalan will be routed through CONCOR’s MMLP Dadri before moving towards JNPT.
The initiative is expected to provide exporters in Punjab and surrounding industrial areas with a more streamlined connection to the major western coast gateway.

MMLP Dadri Provides Daily Western DFC Connectivity to JNPT
CONCOR’s mega MMLP at Dadri operates a daily container train service on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, connecting the northern region with JNPT.By integrating ICD Dhandarikalan with this established rail service, exporters can benefit from faster movement towards the port and improved connectivity with maritime export gateways.
The use of the Western DFC is also expected to enhance the reliability and turnaround time of containerised freight.
New Route to Boost LCL Cargo from Punjab
The initiative is expected to particularly benefit Less-than-Container-Load (LCL) cargo booked from Punjab and nearby industrial regions.
The streamlined routing can help exporters by:
- Reducing overall transit time.
- Improving cargo movement between northern industrial clusters and JNPT.
- Providing access to dedicated freight rail infrastructure.
- Supporting faster turnaround of export containers.
- Strengthening supply chain reliability for exporters.
The service will also support Full-Container-Load (FCL) export traffic moving through the route.
Faster Freight Movement for Punjab’s Exporters
Punjab is home to several manufacturing and industrial clusters that depend on efficient logistics connectivity for moving goods to ports. The new routing links the regional feeder infrastructure at ICD Dhandarikalan with MMLP Dadri and the Western DFC, creating a more efficient rail-based connection to JNPT.
This integration is expected to help address logistics bottlenecks and provide exporters with improved access to one of India’s key container gateways.
CONCOR Strengthens Multimodal Logistics Network
The new service reflects CONCOR’s focus on integrating inland container depots, multimodal logistics facilities and dedicated freight corridors to improve the movement of export and import cargo.
The company’s MMLP Dadri serves as an important logistics hub for northern India, while its daily Western DFC service provides a direct rail link towards JNPT. The latest initiative is therefore expected to strengthen the connection between Punjab’s industrial clusters and West Coast maritime trade routes.
