New Delhi: The Indian Air Force child digital safety programme has been introduced to make students safer in the digital world. Under this initiative, 42 Air Force Schools across India have joined the ScrollControl programme, while 261 teachers have received special training to tackle cybercrime and protect children from online threats.
The initiative aims to protect schoolchildren from online exploitation, artificial intelligence (AI) misuse, gaming-related risks and financial fraud.
Details of Indian Air Force School Scrollcontrol Programme
The Indian Air Force Educational & Cultural Society, under Air Headquarters, has brought 42 Air Force Schools across the country under the ScrollControl Child Digital Safety Programme.
The programme has been introduced in partnership with the Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC) Foundation.
The initiative was announced on November 2, 2026, during National Cyber Security Awareness Month. Its main objective is to improve cyber safety awareness and build the ability of schools to respond to online threats.
Indian Air Force School Scrollcontrol Programme: 261 Teachers Trained As Cyber Crime Intervention Officers
A major part of this programme is the special training provided to teachers. According to the Ministry of Defence, 261 teachers from 42 Air Force Schools have completed a certification course to become Cyber Crime Intervention Officers. These trained teachers will help protect students from several online dangers, including:
- Online grooming and child exploitation.
- Misuse of artificial intelligence (AI).
- Online gaming-related risks.
- Digital and financial fraud.
- Other forms of cybercrime.
They will also learn how to preserve digital evidence and respond quickly when a cybercrime incident occurs. This training will help schools develop their own cyber safety support system.
How Indian Air Force School Scrollcontrol Programme Will Improve Child Digital Safety
The ScrollControl programme will provide several cyber safety facilities to Air Force Schools.
Under this initiative, schools will be able to establish cyber clubs where students can learn about online safety and responsible internet use. The programme will also help schools:
- Certify students in cyber safety.
- Organise awareness sessions for parents and teachers.
- Provide age-appropriate content rating facilities for families.
- Improve awareness about online risks.
- Work towards recognition as a Cyber Safe School.
These activities will help students understand how to use the internet safely and identify possible online threats.
CBSE Cyber Safety Guidelines And Cyber Jagrookta Diwas
The initiative also supports the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) efforts to improve cyber safety in schools.
CBSE has directed its affiliated schools to follow cyber safety best practices through the monthly observance of Cyber Jagrookta Diwas. The Air Force Schools initiative will help meet this requirement by providing trained teachers and an organised cyber safety system within schools. It will also encourage students, teachers and parents to work together to create a safer digital environment.
Indian Air Force School Scrollcontrol Programme: 24×7 Support For Cybercrime Victims
Another important feature of the programme is round-the-clock support for cybercrime victims. The ISAC Foundation will provide a support network involving different experts, including:
- Cyber lawyers.
- Cyber psychologists.
- Digital forensic experts.
This support system will help victims receive assistance and guidance when they face online threats. The programme also includes teacher certification and their empanelment on the National Security Database.
